What Are Skin Irregularities?

Skin irregularities are common, benign lesions that can develop due to genetics, sun exposure, hormonal changes, aging, or friction. While often harmless, they can become cosmetically bothersome, irritated, or increase in size over time.

Our approach focuses on accurate assessment, safe removal, and optimal healing.

What Skin Irregularities do we treat?

We routinely remove a wide range of benign skin lesions, including:

  • Skin tags

  • Cherry angiomas

  • Milia

  • Sebaceous hyperplasia

  • Cholesterol deposits (xanthelasma)

  • Keratoses

  • Benign moles

  • Fibromas

  • Seborrheic keratoses

  • Small vascular lesions

If a lesion is not appropriate for cosmetic removal, we will advise you accordingly and refer when necessary.

Our Technology & Technique

Skin irregularity removal at Skin Revival is performed using advanced electrocoagulation technology, which allows for precise targeting of the lesion while preserving surrounding tissue.

This controlled method:

  • Delivers focused energy to safely remove the lesion

  • Minimizes trauma to the skin

  • Reduces the risk of scarring when properly selected

  • Allows for excellent control in delicate areas

Because of the accuracy of this technology and our team’s experience, we are able to treat sensitive and cosmetically critical areas, including the eyelids, lash line, face, neck, and body.

Why Experience Matters

Lesion removal is not just about the device — it’s about training, judgment, and technique.

Our team has:

  • Over 18 years of clinical experience in lesion removal

  • Extensive training in cosmetic and medical aesthetics environments

  • A reputation for treating challenging and delicate areas

  • Clients who travel specifically for our expertise

This experience allows us to confidently treat areas that require a high level of precision and care, while prioritizing safety and cosmetic results.

Treatment
Most lesions are removed in a single session. Treatment is quick, controlled, and well tolerated.

Aftercare & Healing
You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions to support proper healing. Downtime is typically minimal, and healing progresses gradually over the following weeks to several months depending on the type of lesion.

What Are Skin Tags?

Skin tags are small, soft, benign growths that commonly appear in areas of friction such as the neck, underarms, eyelids, groin, and under the breasts. They are made up of collagen and blood vessels surrounded by skin and are completely harmless, though they can become irritated or cosmetically bothersome.

What Are Milia?

Milia are tiny, white or flesh-coloured cysts that form when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface of the skin. They are most commonly found around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead and do not resolve on their own. Because the skin in these areas is delicate, professional removal is recommended.

What Are Cherry Angiomas?

Cherry angiomas are small, bright red or purple vascular lesions caused by an overgrowth of blood vessels. They are benign and commonly increase with age. While harmless, many people choose to remove them for cosmetic reasons or if they become irritated.

What Are Cholesterol Deposits?

Also referred to as Xanthelasma are soft, yellowish cholesterol deposits that typically appear around the eyelids. While benign, they can be persistent and are often a cosmetic concern due to their location. Removal in this area requires precision and experience due to the delicate surrounding skin. lipid levels.

Fatty deposits can be unsightly and, depending on the area, uncomfortable. If you wish to have them removed, our technicians are trained to use laser therapy to remove deposits.

What Is Keratosis?

Seborrheic keratoses are common, non-cancerous growths that appear as raised, rough, or waxy patches on the skin. They can vary in colour and size and often increase with age. Although harmless, many clients choose removal due to texture, irritation, or appearance.

What Is Sebaceous hyperplasia?

Sebaceous hyperplasia occurs when oil glands enlarge and become visible on the surface of the skin, appearing as small, yellowish or flesh-toned bumps often with a central indentation. These lesions are benign but can resemble other skin conditions, which is why proper assessment is important before removal.

How do I know if a lesion is benign?

Many skin irregularities are purely cosmetic and develop gradually due to factors such as aging, genetics, sun exposure, friction, or lifestyle. These benign lesions are very common and often safe to remove when properly assessed.

At Skin Revival, our team has extensive training and experience in recognizing common benign skin lesions. Every irregularity is visually assessed prior to treatment to ensure it appears appropriate for cosmetic removal.

If a lesion shows signs that are unclear or outside the scope of cosmetic treatment, we will not proceed and will recommend that it be evaluated by your family physician or dermatologist first. Clients are also always welcome to obtain medical clearance prior to treatment — especially when dealing with moles.

As a general guideline, it is important to seek medical evaluation promptly if a lesion:

  • Appears suddenly

  • Changes in size, shape, or colour

  • Grows rapidly

  • Bleeds without injury

  • Becomes painful or inflamed

Your safety is always our priority, and cosmetic removal is only performed when it is appropriate to do so.
