What is the major differences from other technologies that use freezing such as CoolSculpting?
SculpSure and CoolSculpting are the only two technologies approved in Canada for the permanent reduction of fat. All other devices such as Venus freeze, Radiofrequency, Zerona, Vanquish and Emsculpt all provide only temporary reduction of fat. The actual principal of fat destruction with SculpSure vs. CoolSculpting is the same. Both SculpSure and CoolSculpting are creating thermal damage to the fat cells at a temperature in which they can no longer survive. With CoolSculpting the machine is “cooling or freezing” the fat cells, whereas with SculpSure we are heating them up.
The major difference between SculpSure and CoolSculpting is that heat spreads. Therefore with SculpSure, we are able to provide a soft-contoured edge as well as cover a larger surface area. The applicators with SculpSure are more customizable than the pre-set applicator sizes with CoolSculpting.

How does SculpSure work?
SculpSure’s flat, non-suction applicator design rests on the skin’s surface during treatment. Your technician will sit down with you prior to your session and discuss the best options and treatment size/area for you.
Gentle laser pulses target fat deposits under the skin and use heat to damage the cells. Over time, these cells are naturally absorbed and removed from the body with results seen as quickly as six weeks*.
SculpSure offers a number of benefits over other methods of body contouring:
- Works on all skin types, body shapes and sizes
- Procedure is comfortable and well-tolerated by most patients**
- Treatment sessions can address multiple areas at one time
- Treatments take less than 30 minutes to complete
- Most patients achieve desired results normally after 1-2 treatment sessions
SculpSure reduces fat cells and provides visible results. It is important post procedure to continue living a healthy lifestyle as this procedure is unable to inhibit your body from fat cells returning. If this occurs, you may need to have additional body contouring procedures to restore your leaner body profile.
SculpSure is typically recommended for patients that have achieved a healthy weight but have isolated areas of fat that have not responded to diet and exercise.
